HAMILTON, On - Mayor Fred Eisenberger sent a message of sympathy to all those affected by the earthquake in Haiti. The Mayor said "This is a humanitarian disaster of the highest magnitude, the people of Hamilton are very concerned about everyone in Haiti who has been affected." he said "On behalf of our community, I am extending our deepest sympathies to the families of people who died, and all those who were injured in the earthquake. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Haiti who has been affected by the disaster," he added.
The Mayor also extended sympathy to everyone in the Hamilton community who has friends or family who were affected by the earthquake in Haiti. He re-assured the people of Haiti that the Hamilton community stands ready to help in every way possible. "I will be asking senior staff to investigate if there is any way for the city to assist Canadian relief efforts," the Mayor promised.
