City Hall Poll

City Hall

As you know, Hamilton City Hall is under renovation. As City Council makes construction decisions on this historically designated building, we are seeking to balance good design with costs savings.

A major decision facing City Council is what type of exterior cladding to use on the building. The choices are:

  • Concrete – Least consistent with heritage and design and is prone to discolouration. However, it is the least expensive.
  • Limestone – A material that has similar qualities as marble and is consistent with heritage and design. Less expensive than marble.

  • Marble – The existing material that is the most consistent with the heritage and design, but is the most expensive.

As City Hall is the "people's building", I want to hear from citizens before City Council debates this issue on October 15th.
